One beautiful morning, bathed in divine glory of lord of winter. Air was crisp, cool and fresh, fragrant with morning blossoms; Joyous with the songs of the birds, bathed with the mist of morning dew, sky colored with the red glow of the rising sun, bordered with green mountains and earth, the Mother Nature was the very image of perfection.
Prasad couple started the day with their daily routine of morning walk. As was the habit looked for a loaf of bread to be distributed to the stray dogs who had adopted themselves to this couple. Each dog had been named by the Prasad children as Willy, Karishma, and Elise and so on. They had to track a bakery to buy a bread to meet these dogs’ demands. Eventually they found one and they bought the bread and set course on their daily routine of morning walk. To their surprise not a dog came. Their hearts sunk with fear that the dog van might have rounded up all these beautiful animals to be exterminated. There was not a soul around to enquire about the fate of these dogs. With heavy hearts they moved on with their morning walk. Further down the lane they came across mentally deranged beggar women lying flat on the ground, looking at the sky with the left and on the mouth and right hand stretched straight to the sky. From her gestures they understood that she was hungry and even in that mental condition she was asking the God to give her food.
They had the food in their hands but they lacked the courage to approach her, in case she attacked. They saw a rag picker further away busy picking trash. At that moment he looked like an angel of courage. They approached him bribed him with a two rupee coin and asked him if he would oblige them by giving the bread to the destitute mad women.
That little boy tempted by the elusive coin mustered all his courage to approach the women and give her the bread. Alas all he could do was go close enough and throw the bread close to her. That beautiful soul trapped in a mad mind jumped up hugged the bread like a baby tore open the bag pulled out four slices of bread swallowed them as if there is no tomorrow. She gave them a look of gratitude, which spoke volumes, which could put the bestseller books to shame.
Next day they went again with a loaf of bread. The entire usual dogs were there to receive their share of food and love, the mad women was no where to be found.
The greatest master managed to give them the message, that he is the giver, he is the receiver, and he stage manages the show. Our job is to enjoy his intrigues, his love that is abundant and limitless. All we need to do is ask and he is there to provide.
