Vijay was so enamored by his beautiful wife Ratnakumari that he could not take his eyes off her. He loved her more than his own life. Making sure that she had all the comforts of life became his only aim of life. He treated her like a princess. This caused a lot of heart burns for Subhadra. Slowly she started showing her jealousy openly. She would serve her son meals personally on a beautifully ornamented silver plate. She would prepare all the delicacies herself and she insisted she serve her son herself. She would pamper her son like a three year old and coax him to eat more. After her son had eaten she would serve herself and eat to her hearts content. She would make sure there were no vegetables and other curries were left for her daughter-in-law. All she would serve her was spicy pickle and stale steamed rice. Ratnakumari had never seen this side of life. She had never known hardships existed in this world. In her fathers house she lived in luxuries. Exotic curries and meals were specially prepared to appease her pellet. She was not trained to cope up with situations like this. Her husband observed his mothers behavior pattern and decided he had to do something to correct this awkward situation without hurting both the ladies feelings. He would ask his mother to serve him food, and ask her to serve more curries; he would eat half of it and spare half for his wife.

Ratnakumari conceived very soon. Years passed by she became the mother of six handsome sons and one very pretty and talented daughter. Each child of Vijay and Ratnakumari were Gems. They out shined all the other children of their age group in looks, culture, talents and academics. Ratnakumari raised her children with utmost care and love. She always protected her children from the wrath of family elders whenever they did any mischief.
